About the Role
As a Signal & Interlocking Inspector, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the safety and dependability of the transit system that connects hundreds of thousands of riders daily. The MBTA is building a best-in-class regional transit system, and your expertise in signal and interlocking infrastructure is essential to that mission.
What You'll Do
- Conduct routine and preventive inspections of signal and interlocking systems at rail and bus facilities
- Evaluate equipment condition, identify defects, and document findings in accordance with safety standards
- Test signal and interlocking components to verify proper operation and compliance
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintenance recommendations
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address identified issues
- Support safety initiatives and help maintain infrastructure reliability across the MBTA network
