About the Role
As HR Business Partner, you'll bridge human resources strategy and operational excellence across our organization. This is a hands-on role where you'll partner with leadership to solve complex people challenges, ensure compliance with employment law, and drive initiatives that strengthen our workplace.
What You'll Do
- Maintain expert knowledge of Michigan employment laws and legal requirements to ensure compliant day-to-day management practices
- Partner with managers to develop and implement HR strategies that support business goals
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations
- Provide counsel on compensation, benefits, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution
- Support employee development programs and succession planning initiatives
- Ensure accurate HR documentation, record-keeping, and regulatory compliance
- Foster a workplace culture aligned with Arauco's values of sustainability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
- Solid understanding of Michigan employment law and federal HR compliance requirements
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and business acumen
- Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office
