Solutions Engineer – Global

About the Role

As a Solutions Engineer on SHI's team, you'll serve as a strategic technical partner to customers and internal stakeholders. You'll translate business needs into scalable, practical technology solutions—combining technical expertise with consultative problem-solving to guide clients through their IT transformation journey. Your work directly impacts how thousands of organizations leverage technology to achieve their mission-critical goals.

What You'll Do

• Design and propose tailored IT solutions aligned with customer business objectives and budget constraints
• Conduct technical assessments and discovery calls to understand client infrastructure, goals, and pain points
• Develop detailed solution architectures, implementation timelines, and cost analyses for presentation to decision-makers
• Collaborate with sales teams to strengthen client relationships and accelerate deal cycles
• Provide pre-sales and post-implementation technical guidance across diverse technology platforms and services
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive solutions
• Support the delivery team during implementation to ensure customer success and satisfaction

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT environments, systems engineering, or solutions architecture
• Strong technical foundation in cloud infrastructure, networking, security, or data center technologies
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Track record of successfully closing deals and building long-term client partnerships
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance customer needs, technical constraints, and business goals
• Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, CompTIA, or vendor-specific) a plus
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites
