About the Role

As a Lab Technician at the Stuckeman School Shop, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our facilities, equipment, and materials are organized, functional, and safe for student use. This part-time position focuses on day-to-day operations and maintenance of our shop environment. You'll work independently and collaboratively to support the educational mission of our architecture program.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain, clean, and organize shop equipment, tools, and workspace areas
  • Monitor inventory of materials and supplies, processing orders and restocking as needed
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist with minor repairs
  • Ensure safety protocols and building regulations are followed by all facility users
  • Provide basic guidance and orientation to students on safe equipment operation
  • Document equipment usage, maintenance records, and shop activity
  • Support special events, workshops, and student projects as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Experience with shop equipment, hand tools, or power tools
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity
  • Good communication skills and commitment to student safety
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and procedures
  • Flexibility to accommodate a part-time schedule that may include evening or weekend hours
