Occupational Therapist

Join Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Libertyville as a Part Time Occupational Therapist in Elk Grove Village, Cook County, and help patients recover their independence through specialized rehabilitation therapy. About the Role

This Part Time Occupational Therapist position offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a specialized rehabilitation setting focused on recovery from serious illness and injury. You'll work with patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, using occupational therapy interventions to restore functional capacity and promote independence in activities that matter most to them.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to identify patients' functional abilities, limitations, and rehabilitation potential
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans targeting restoration of self-care skills, work capacity, and meaningful activities
• Provide hands-on therapy interventions including therapeutic exercises, adaptive activities, and functional training
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, nurses, and care managers to coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation services
• Monitor patient progress, document clinical outcomes, and modify interventions based on individual response and goals
• Educate patients and families about adaptive strategies, equipment, and techniques to support sustained independence
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards of care

What We're Looking For

• Current Illinois state licensure as an Occupational Therapist with NBCOT certification
• Clinical experience in rehabilitation or acute care settings
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients and families
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based practice
• Ability to function as an independent clinician within a collaborative team environment
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
