Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Team Lead for Workers Compensation in San Juan to lead and develop a dedicated claims team serving the Urbanización El Vedado area. This is a full-time position where you'll combine hands-on claims expertise with team leadership to drive operational excellence.
About the Role
As Claims Team Lead, you'll manage workers' compensation claims from intake through resolution while overseeing a team of claims processors. This position requires both technical proficiency in workers' compensation operations and the ability to mentor and motivate your team toward consistent, high-quality outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and develop a team of claims specialists, providing coaching and performance feedback
- Process and manage workers' compensation claims in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Review claim files for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate handling procedures
- Coordinate communications with claimants, employers, medical providers, and legal representatives
- Monitor team productivity and claim metrics, preparing regular performance reports
- Identify workflow improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and quality
- Ensure proper documentation and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations
- Participate in training initiatives to keep the team current on policy and procedure changes
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in workers' compensation claims processing
- Demonstrated supervisory or team lead experience
- Solid understanding of workers' compensation laws and claim handling best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines consistently
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Relevant industry certification (AIC, ARM, or equivalent) preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English capability is valued
