Systems Engineer with Security Clearance

Cornerstone Defense is hiring a Systems Engineer with Security Clearance for our Reston, Fairfax County location. This full-time role offers the opportunity to design and maintain secure, scalable IT infrastructure supporting government and defense organizations.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing complex systems across cloud platforms and traditional infrastructure. This position requires hands-on technical expertise, a security-first mindset, and the ability to work effectively in compliance-driven environments.

What You'll Do

• Provision and manage infrastructure resources on major cloud platforms
• Administer systems across Windows and Linux environments
• Design and implement secure network configurations
• Develop scripts and automation tools for deployment and system maintenance
• Configure web-based systems and online service infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and debug technical issues across distributed systems
• Maintain security compliance and best practices
• Collaborate with technical teams on infrastructure optimization

What We're Looking For

• Active or eligible security clearance
• Proficiency administering Windows and Linux systems
• Experience with cloud platform provisioning and resource management
• Understanding of network architecture and configuration
• Ability to write automation scripts or develop software tools
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Knowledge of security standards and compliance frameworks
• Background in government or defense-contracting environments preferred
