Local Beekeeping Partner

Alvéole is seeking a full-time Local Beekeeping Partner to manage and expand urban beekeeping operations in Cincinnati, Hamilton County. Join a B Corporation on a mission to restore biodiversity and foster environmental stewardship by bringing honey bees and nature into city spaces.

About the Role

As a Local Beekeeping Partner, you'll be the backbone of our Cincinnati operations—responsible for hands-on beehive management across residential and commercial properties throughout the region. You'll oversee colony health, conduct regular inspections and maintenance, coordinate honey harvests, and represent Alvéole at rooftop apiaries. This is both a technical beekeeping role and a partnership management position, requiring you to work closely with property managers, building owners, and our central team to ensure every installation thrives.

What You'll Do

• Manage multiple beehive installations across Cincinnati properties, monitoring colony strength and bee health year-round
• Perform routine hive inspections, maintenance, and swarm prevention to keep colonies productive and safe
• Harvest honey, wax, and other hive products while adhering to food safety and local regulations
• Lead educational programs and tenant engagement events to build community connection with urban beekeeping
• Coordinate with building partners and property managers to support successful hive placement and long-term sustainability
• Document operations, track colony metrics, and report on program outcomes to support Alvéole's impact mission
• Stay current with Cincinnati's beekeeping regulations and maintain all necessary certifications and permits

What We're Looking For

• Proven beekeeping experience managing multiple hives or equivalent apiary background
• Genuine passion for honeybees, urban agriculture, and environmental conservation
• Strong communication skills and comfort engaging with diverse audiences
• Reliability and ability to manage your own schedule across multiple locations
• Physical ability to perform beekeeping tasks and work at heights when necessary
