About the Role

As a Caregiver (Direct Care Aide) with Lifesteps, you'll provide essential support and assistance to adults with disabilities living in our residential home setting in Elderton, PA. This is hands-on, meaningful work that directly improves the quality of life for the individuals in your care. You'll work as part of a supportive team within our agency, which has been serving the local community for over 100 years.

What You'll Do

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing
• Support meal preparation and dining assistance as needed
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
• Communicate effectively with supervisors about resident needs and any changes in condition
• Follow established care plans and safety protocols

What We're Looking For

• Genuine compassion and patience when working with adults with disabilities
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and mobility assistance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliability and a commitment to showing up on time
• Willingness to work as part of a team
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
