About the Role
As Homefinding Supervisor, you'll oversee the operations and personnel of our homefinding unit, ensuring that every child receives careful, compassionate matching with a loving family. Your leadership will strengthen our capacity to build strong foundations for young people while supporting the families who open their homes.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and mentor a team of homefinding professionals, providing guidance on case decisions, family assessments, and placement strategies
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of foster and adoptive families in the Bronx and surrounding areas
- Monitor case progress and ensure compliance with child welfare regulations, agency policies, and best practices
- Collaborate with caseworkers, clinical staff, and community partners to identify appropriate homes and supports for children with varying needs
- Participate in staffing meetings and contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on placements, outcomes, and unit performance
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in child welfare, foster care, case management, or a related field
- Experience supervising staff or leading teams
- Strong understanding of the foster care system, family dynamics, and trauma-informed practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments
- Passion for helping vulnerable children and families thrive
