Legacy Management Solutions is hiring a Paralegal Specialist III - Financial Litigation/Debt Collection (DOJ Contract) in Jackson. This full-time position supports the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Mississippi, and plays an essential role in advancing federal financial litigation and enforcement initiatives.
About the Role
As a Paralegal Specialist III, you will provide comprehensive legal support to Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) in the Southern District of Mississippi. You'll work on significant cases involving federal financial litigation, debt collection enforcement, and judgment recovery. This DOJ contract role demands accuracy, legal knowledge, and the ability to manage complex federal case workflows.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and organize legal documents, pleadings, and motions for federal financial litigation cases
- Support AUSAs in debt collection enforcement actions, including judgment recovery efforts
- Maintain comprehensive case files and ensure compliance with federal documentation standards
- Conduct legal research to support financial litigation strategy and case preparation
- Coordinate with court systems, opposing counsel, and other federal agencies
- Draft correspondence, memoranda, and supporting legal documents
- Track deadlines, manage docket items, and maintain case timelines
- Assist with witness preparation and discovery management
What We're Looking For
- Paralegal certification or substantial paralegal work experience with federal litigation
- Strong knowledge of debt collection law, financial litigation procedures, and federal court practices
- Proficiency with legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while meeting strict federal case deadlines
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all legal documents
- Security clearance eligibility or existing clearance
