Physical Therapist Asst.

Altru Rehabilitation Hospital in Stephen, Marshall County is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our clinical team. In this role, you'll work alongside licensed physical therapists to deliver rehabilitation services that help patients restore function, build strength, and regain independence.

About the Role

This part-time Physical Therapist Assistant position allows you to make a direct impact on patient recovery within a supportive clinical environment. You'll contribute to meaningful therapeutic outcomes while working as an integral member of our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.

What You'll Do

• Implement patient treatment plans under the supervision and direction of licensed physical therapists
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretching routines, and mobility activities tailored to their recovery goals
• Monitor patient response to treatment, track progress, and document clinical observations and vital signs
• Operate therapeutic equipment and modalities in accordance with treatment protocols
• Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, home activity programs, and post-treatment care instructions
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring equipment is clean, safe, and ready for use
• Communicate patient status and treatment feedback to the clinical care team

What We're Looking For

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license or active certification in your state
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Solid understanding of anatomy, therapeutic techniques, and rehabilitation principles
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills
• Physical capability to assist patients with transfers, positioning, and therapeutic activities
• Genuine commitment to patient-centered care and positive outcomes
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a clinical team environment
