VP, Portfolio Manager Commercial Banking Dealer Finance

BMO Financial Group is hiring a VP, Portfolio Manager for Commercial Banking Dealer Finance at our Illinois Medical District location in Chicago. In this full-time role, you'll lead credit decisions, manage a portfolio of commercial clients, and drive exceptional results in dealer finance lending.

About the Role

As VP, Portfolio Manager of Commercial Banking Dealer Finance, you'll be responsible for evaluating credit applications, supporting lending decisions, and managing a diverse book of dealer finance commercial loans. You'll evaluate risk, structure transactions, and ensure all decisions comply with bank policies while delivering outstanding service to your portfolio of clients. This is a key client-facing leadership position where your expertise directly shapes the bank's dealer finance strategy.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate credit information and financial data to inform lending decisions for new and existing commercial banking clients
• Build and manage an assigned portfolio of dealer finance clients, maintaining strong relationships and understanding their businesses
• Structure loan agreements, negotiate terms and conditions, and recommend credit facilities aligned with risk appetite and client needs
• Make credit recommendations and decisions that comply with BMO policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting standards
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and take proactive steps to protect asset quality
• Collaborate with colleagues across commercial banking, operations, and compliance to ensure smooth loan execution
• Maintain a client-first service mindset while managing credit risk

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in commercial banking, dealer finance, or portfolio management
• Demonstrated expertise in credit analysis, loan structuring, and risk assessment
• Strong understanding of dealer finance industry dynamics and commercial lending best practices
• Proven ability to build and manage client relationships at the executive level
• Knowledge of bank policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• VP-level professional maturity and decision-making capability
