Join the Alabama Goodwill Industries team as a Retail Team Member at our Northport location in Tuscaloosa County. This is a part-time position where you'll help serve our community while supporting Goodwill's mission to strengthen lives through work and opportunity.
About the Role
As a Retail Team Member, you'll be the welcoming face of our store, delivering excellent customer service while helping customers find quality donated goods. You'll work on our sales floor and at the register, keeping our shop organized, welcoming, and efficient. Your work directly contributes to funding job training and employment programs that transform lives across Alabama.
What You'll Do
- Provide friendly, helpful customer service and ring up transactions at the register
- Process incoming donations, evaluate condition and quality, and merchandise items on the sales floor
- Maintain store appearance by stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and keeping the retail space clean and inviting
- Handle cash and payment transactions accurately and securely
- Assist customers with product questions and help them locate items
- Follow store procedures and safety standards
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Proven customer service experience or demonstrated willingness to learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, with ability to commit to part-time schedule
- Comfortable with cash handling and basic math
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise regularly
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
