Tax Manager

Gpac, a forward-thinking public accounting practice in Humboldt, Gibson County, is seeking a full-time Tax Manager to lead our expanding tax services practice. About the Role

As Tax Manager, you'll oversee the tax compliance and advisory work for a diverse portfolio of business clients. This hands-on leadership position combines technical expertise with team development, positioning you to grow into partnership responsibilities. You'll work directly with client leadership on strategic tax planning while ensuring all deliverables meet our quality standards and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

• Manage the preparation and review of individual and corporate tax returns
• Lead tax planning strategies tailored to client circumstances and goals
• Supervise and mentor junior tax professionals on technical matters and client engagement
• Maintain and develop key client relationships, serving as the primary advisor on tax matters
• Research complex tax issues and stay current with regulatory changes
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting standards, and firm policies
• Contribute to firm growth through practice development and new client acquisition

What We're Looking For

• CPA with active license (or immediate eligibility)
• Minimum 5–7 years of tax accounting experience in a public accounting environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead junior staff
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and planning
• Excellent technical skills with accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Ability to juggle multiple client engagements and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills and professional judgment
