Dollar Tree is hiring a full-time Merchandising Assistant Manager in District Heights, Prince George's County. You'll partner with the Store Manager to lead store operations, manage merchandise displays, and build a high-performing team dedicated to exceptional customer service.
About the Role
As a Merchandising Assistant Manager, you're the operational backbone of your Dollar Tree location. You'll oversee everything from freight processing and inventory management to visual merchandising and team leadership. This hands-on position offers genuine growth potential for someone ready to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced retail environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise a team of store associates, maintaining high standards of performance and customer service
- Manage merchandise displays and visual merchandising to maximize sales and store presentation
- Receive, process, and organize incoming freight and shipments
- Maintain inventory accuracy and execute proper stock rotation procedures
- Support the Store Manager in all store operations and company initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Dollar Tree policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Train associates on merchandising best practices and store procedures
- Monitor the sales floor and adjust merchandising to optimize customer engagement
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in retail management or merchandise operations
- Strong leadership and team supervisory skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and practices
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Physical capability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Customer-first mindset and commitment to community service
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
