About the Role

As Public Funding Manager, you'll serve as USA The Nature Conservancy's central point of contact for public funding efforts, directly advancing the partnership's strategic conservation goals. This role combines grant development, stakeholder coordination, and program management to secure and steward public resources that drive environmental change.

What You'll Do

• Develop, coordinate, and execute comprehensive public funding strategies aligned with partnership priorities
• Identify, research, and pursue government grants and public funding opportunities at federal, state, and local levels
• Write and submit compelling grant proposals, applications, and supporting documentation
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, public funders, and key stakeholders
• Manage day-to-day tasks and workflows related to public funding programs and initiatives
• Track funding timelines, compliance requirements, and reporting obligations for public grants
• Coordinate with TNC teams to align funding strategies with program needs and conservation objectives
• Monitor funding landscape and share insights to inform strategic planning

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in grant writing, public funding development, or government relations in conservation, environmental, or nonprofit sectors
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local funding mechanisms and grant processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to develop clear, compelling grant narratives
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple funding projects simultaneously
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and grant management systems
• Detail-oriented approach to compliance, reporting, and documentation
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, nonprofit management, public administration, policy, or related field
• Passion for conservation and understanding of environmental challenges and solutions
