About the Role
Martin County School District is seeking a dedicated ESE Paraprofessional to provide direct support to students with exceptional needs. This full-time interim position, lasting less than 99 days, offers an excellent opportunity to make an immediate impact in a special education classroom setting while working closely with experienced educators.
What You'll Do
- Assist special education teachers in delivering instruction tailored to individual student needs and IEP goals
- Provide one-on-one or small-group support to help students access the general curriculum
- Support classroom management and behavioral support strategies as directed by the special education teacher
- Assist with personal care and mobility support when needed, following established protocols
- Help maintain organized learning materials and classroom environments conducive to student success
- Communicate effectively with teachers, school staff, and families regarding student progress
- Follow all district policies, procedures, and individualized education plan (IEP) requirements
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with students with disabilities or exceptional needs (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain confidentiality
- Patient, compassionate approach to supporting diverse learners
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing student needs
- Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation
