Associates Systems LLC is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer with Security Clearance at our Kent Lakes, Putnam County location. We're seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to develop innovative hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems for mission-critical applications.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer with Security Clearance, you'll drive the design and development of complex mechanical systems from concept through implementation. This full-time position at our Kent Lakes facility offers the opportunity to work on projects requiring precision engineering, advanced problem-solving, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

What You'll Do

• Design and optimize hydraulic and pneumatic systems for demanding mechanical applications
• Develop fuel oil and mechanical system architectures that meet rigorous performance requirements
• Specify pumps, filters, and other hydraulic and pneumatic components
• Create detailed technical documentation, bills of materials, and design specifications
• Leverage SolidWorks and CAD software to produce comprehensive design models and production drawings
• Conduct design reviews and coordinate with manufacturing and quality assurance teams
• Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and field deployment activities

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• Hands-on experience designing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Proven background in equipment and machine design
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable CAD platforms
• Working knowledge of pumps, filters, and hydraulic/pneumatic component selection
• Ability to prepare accurate bills of materials and technical documentation
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
