Manufacturing Systems Engineer

Amgen seeks a Manufacturing Systems Engineer for our Holly Springs, North Carolina facility. This full-time role is an opportunity to support our mission of developing and delivering life-changing medicines to patients with serious illnesses.

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer at Amgen, you'll own the systems that power our biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations. You'll drive continuous improvement across production lines, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions that strengthen both our output and our commitment to patient safety and product quality.

What You'll Do

• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot manufacturing systems and production processes to enhance efficiency and reliability
• Collaborate with operations, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to identify process bottlenecks and develop technical solutions
• Conduct data analysis on system performance, equipment metrics, and production data to guide decision-making
• Support process automation projects and capital equipment installations
• Ensure manufacturing systems comply with FDA regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols
• Document system configurations, procedures, and technical specifications
• Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for system anomalies

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Systems, Chemical, or related discipline) or equivalent experience
• Experience in manufacturing operations, process engineering, or systems optimization
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and systems-thinking mindset
• Proficiency with manufacturing execution systems (MES), automation tools, or process control software
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing regulations is a plus
