Join MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a Space Systems Researcher and Engineer in our Analysis and Test Group, based in Lexington, Massachusetts. This full-time position offers the opportunity to tackle critical space-related security challenges that directly impact US national defense strategy through rigorous analysis, prototyping, and real-world field demonstrations.
About the Role
The Analysis and Test Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory works on some of the nation's most pressing space security priorities. You'll contribute your technical expertise to develop validated analysis methods, design and build proof-of-concept systems, and conduct field testing that informs strategic decisions at the highest levels of government. Your work will influence how the US Space Force, Air Force, and Intelligence Community approach emerging space domain challenges.
What You'll Do
- Conduct in-depth technical analysis of space systems, architectures, and operational concepts
- Design and prototype solutions to complex space security problems
- Plan, execute, and evaluate field demonstrations and validation experiments
- Provide unbiased technical assessments to military and intelligence leadership
- Collaborate with government partners to understand mission requirements and constraints
- Document findings and recommendations through technical reports and briefings
- Contribute to the advancement of space systems capabilities and doctrine
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or related technical field (Master's or PhD preferred)
- Strong background in systems analysis, aerospace engineering, or space systems
- Experience with prototyping, testing, or experimental validation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Security clearance eligibility and willingness to pursue a DoD secret or higher clearance
- US citizenship required
