HKS is hiring a Studio Practice Leader – Mission Critical for our Seattle, King County office. Lead the strategic direction and operational excellence of our studio while overseeing multiple project teams and fostering the delivery of exceptional design solutions across our practice areas.
About the Role
As Studio Practice Leader, you'll be responsible for the overall management and success of the studio, directing multiple project teams through the design, development, and delivery of outstanding solutions tailored to specific practice areas and building types. You'll execute the studio's practice strategy, often managing several concurrent projects with diverse clients simultaneously. This role emphasizes growing leadership capabilities within your team and advancing the studio's strategic priorities.
What You'll Do
- Direct studio operations and oversee the work of multiple project teams across design and delivery
- Lead the strategic execution of practice-area focus and building-type expertise within your studio
- Manage multiple projects and client relationships concurrently, ensuring quality outcomes and client satisfaction
- Mentor and develop team members, building leadership capacity within the studio
- Contribute to practice growth initiatives and business development efforts
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in architecture or design leadership roles managing multiple project teams
- Strong track record of successfully delivering complex design projects for mission-critical applications
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead projects through completion
- Strategic mindset with the ability to execute practice strategy and drive studio performance
- Leadership and mentoring skills that develop emerging talent
- Deep expertise in your practice area or building type discipline
