Principal Category Supplier Manager

Micron Technology is hiring a Principal Category Supplier Manager to lead strategic procurement initiatives at our Emmett, Idaho facility. This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape supply chain excellence for a global memory and storage innovator.

About the Role

As Principal Category Supplier Manager at Micron, you will oversee category strategy and supplier relationships that directly enable our mission to deliver cutting-edge memory and storage technology to markets worldwide. Working within our Indirect Procurement function, you will drive vendor performance, manage complex negotiations, and identify cost optimization opportunities across assigned categories.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute category strategies that align with business objectives and supplier capabilities
• Manage relationships with strategic suppliers, evaluating performance and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
• Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels while managing risk
• Collaborate across engineering, operations, and finance teams to understand procurement needs and deliver solutions
• Analyze market trends and supplier landscapes to optimize sourcing decisions and supply chain resilience
• Monitor supplier quality, delivery, and compliance metrics; drive accountability and corrective actions
• Identify and implement cost savings initiatives without compromising quality or reliability

• Proven experience managing high-complexity procurement categories at the strategic level
• Deep expertise in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and category strategy
• Strong analytical and financial acumen; ability to drive measurable business impact through procurement decisions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across functional teams
• Track record of identifying and delivering supply chain efficiencies and cost savings
• Ability to work independently while fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
