Decker is actively recruiting Class A CDL drivers to join our over-the-road flatbed operation based in Meriden, Jefferson County. This is a full-time position offering $106,000 annually, designed for experienced commercial drivers seeking meaningful work in the transportation industry.
About the Role
As an OTR flatbed driver, you'll operate a tractor-trailer hauling flatbed freight across regional and longer routes. We specialize in 100% non-touch freight loads, which means safer, more predictable work conditions and streamlined operations. This role emphasizes consistency and reliability—you'll have regular home time to maintain work-life balance while building your career with a growing carrier.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle hauling flatbed freight in over-the-road configurations
- Execute pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT standards
- Maintain accurate logbooks and comply with Hours of Service regulations
- Transport loads across assigned routes while meeting delivery schedules
- Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding load status and arrival times
- Help secure and manage non-touch freight loads according to safety protocols
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 6 months of verifiable recent tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and background screening
- Willingness to work within established operating schedules
