International PFAS Forensics Subject Matter Expert

CDM Smith is seeking an International PFAS Forensics Subject Matter Expert for a full-time position in our Chelmsford, Middlesex County office. As a recognized leader in environmental consulting, we're building a team to address one of the most pressing environmental challenges facing communities worldwide: PFAS contamination investigation and remediation.

About the Role

In this leadership position, you will serve as our primary subject matter expert in PFAS forensic analysis and investigation. You'll provide strategic guidance on complex contamination cases, develop advanced forensic methodologies, and help shape how we approach PFAS challenges for clients across multiple countries and regulatory environments.

What You'll Do

• Lead forensic investigations into PFAS contamination sources, transport pathways, and distribution patterns
• Design and oversee analytical programs to identify and quantify PFAS in environmental media
• Develop evidence-based remediation and management strategies
• Advise clients on regulatory compliance across varying international frameworks
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex environmental assessments
• Prepare technical reports, expert opinions, and presentation materials for stakeholders and regulatory agencies
• Stay current with evolving PFAS science, regulations, and best practices globally

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree in chemistry, environmental science, geology, or related field
• Substantial experience investigating and managing PFAS or similar persistent contaminants
• Deep knowledge of PFAS analytical methods, environmental fate and transport, and forensic techniques
• Understanding of environmental regulations and remediation standards across multiple jurisdictions
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Ability to mentor team members and influence client strategy
• International exposure to environmental challenges and regulatory environments
