Electrician – Grade B (Bogalusa Container)

International Paper is hiring a Maintenance Electrician - Grade B at our Bogalusa Container Plant in Bogalusa, Louisiana. This is a full-time position on a rotating shift schedule, offering $30.63 per hour and the opportunity to maintain critical electrical systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

About the Role

As a Grade B Maintenance Electrician at our Bogalusa Container facility (501 Avenue U, Bogalusa, LA 70427), you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment and controls throughout our containerboard manufacturing plant. You'll work rotating shifts to ensure continuous operations, performing hands-on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on motors, drives, control systems, and production equipment.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and resolve electrical system failures using test equipment and technical knowledge
• Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to understand equipment operation
• Monitor gauges, meters, and diagnostic instruments to verify equipment performance
• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, contactors, starters, and control panels
• Apply electrical theory and mathematical calculations to troubleshoot complex circuits
• Inspect wiring, connections, and equipment for safety and compliance
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safety protocols during all maintenance activities
• Document maintenance work and communicate findings with operations teams

What We're Looking For

• Valid electrician license or Grade B equivalent certification
• 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
• Proficiency reading electrical drawings and schematics
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors, and control systems
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Physical ability to climb, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety procedures
