The Board, for Student Publications at the University of Michigan is in search of a Sales and Marketing Advisor. This role involves training, mentoring and supporting the student sales/business and marketing staff for four on campus publications. The Advisor will also collaborate with students to organize Grad Extravaganza events promote them handle logistics and ensure their success. Additionally managing an e commerce website will be part of the Advisors responsibilities.

The Sales and Marketing Advisor will directly assist students in developing their sales skills retaining and growing sales numbers and generating revenue through products and services. The ideal candidate should have a bachelors degree or equivalent experience in marketing, advertising, management, journalism or a related field. They should also possess project management expertise along with an understanding of how social media and websites contribute to the goals of publications organizations.

Proficiency in sales related tools/software programs as well as publications related technologies is essential for this position. Communication and presentation skills are required since the role involves working with college students. Desired qualifications include three to five years of sales experience along with a mindset for online innovations like digital media products. Experience in print and online advertising is valuable too. Strategic thinking combined with hands on management abilities are qualities for this role alongside expertise, in developing sales and marketing plans. Experience mentoring or training students would be advantageous.
The role requires a commitment of 40 hours, per week from Monday to Friday with evening and weekend availability for board meetings and special events.
