About the Role
As a Medical Specimen Collector with Trilab Health, you'll collect biological specimens that are essential for accurate laboratory testing and patient diagnosis. This is a direct patient-care position requiring both technical competency and genuine empathy for the people you serve.
What You'll Do
- Collect blood samples, urine specimens, and other biological materials using proper venipuncture and collection techniques
- Verify patient identity and obtain informed consent prior to all collections
- Adhere to safety protocols, infection control standards, and occupational exposure prevention procedures
- Label, document, and track specimens accurately in compliance with laboratory standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly supplied collection station
- Support patients with professionalism and reassurance throughout the collection process
- Communicate any collection challenges or concerns to your laboratory supervisor
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy certification is valued
- Hands-on competency with specimen collection procedures
- Strong verbal communication and genuine interpersonal presence
- Demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Consistent reliability and punctuality
- Ability to follow laboratory protocols independently while working collaboratively
Position Details
This part-time position is located at our Saint Louis facility, 1430 Olive Street, 3rd Floor, St. Louis, Missouri 63103. Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (up to 39 hours per week). Compensation: $16.00–$18.00 per hour based on experience.
