Healthcare Services Group, Inc. is hiring a School Custodial Manager to lead facilities operations across our Brooklyn Heights campus locations. This full-time position offers Monday through Friday evenings (3–11 PM), allowing you to make a direct impact on the cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence of our schools while supporting a community-focused mission.
About the Role
As a School Custodial Manager, you will oversee environmental services and facilities maintenance across multiple school sites in the Downtown Brooklyn area. You'll lead a team dedicated to maintaining sanitary, safe learning environments where students and staff can thrive. Your leadership ensures that daily custodial operations, equipment management, and compliance standards meet our high expectations.
What You'll Do
- Direct day-to-day custodial and facilities operations across multiple school locations
- Supervise and mentor environmental services staff to deliver consistent, quality facility maintenance
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, protocols, and quality standards aligned with school operations
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations across all managed sites
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and vendor relationships to keep facilities functioning smoothly
- Monitor inventory, budget resources, and manage custodial supplies efficiently
- Address emergencies and facility issues with prompt, professional problem-solving
- Serve as the primary liaison between school administration and facilities services
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience managing custodial or facilities operations teams
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and guide staff
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols, safety standards, and maintenance best practices
- Experience overseeing multi-site or large-scale operations preferred
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently during evening hours
