About the Role
As a Produce Part Time Teammate, you'll be the face of our produce section, ensuring every customer who walks into our Somerville store has a positive, helpful experience. Your work directly impacts how customers perceive the freshness and quality of our selection, making this role central to the bFresh mission.
What You'll Do
- Stock, organize, and rotate fresh produce throughout your shift to maintain optimal displays and product quality
- Assist customers in selecting produce and answer questions about ripeness, storage, and preparation
- Monitor department conditions to preserve freshness and product quality
- Keep the produce area clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times
- Receive and process incoming produce deliveries, checking for quality and proper placement
- Build rapport with regular customers and learn their preferences to provide personalized service
- Communicate with team members and management about inventory, quality concerns, or customer needs
What We're Looking For
- Genuine enthusiasm for fresh produce and commitment to quality standards
- Strong work ethic and ability to maintain energy and focus during your scheduled shifts
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including standing and lifting
- Basic knowledge of produce types is helpful but not required—we'll train you
- Reliability and punctuality in a part-time schedule
- Willingness to take ownership of the produce department's cleanliness and presentation
