About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to work as a skilled Tool and Die Maker in our Fort Wayne operation. You'll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of tooling—from fabrication and assembly through maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement. Your work directly supports production efficiency and quality across our manufacturing operations.
What You'll Do
- Fabricate, repair, and modify tool and die components to precise specifications
- Maintain and improve existing tools, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment
- Operate precision shop equipment including Bridgeport mills, lathes, and surface grinders
- Support machine setup, changeover, and operation on the production floor
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform preventive maintenance
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and workplace safety requirements
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a related toolroom role
- Proficiency with conventional machining equipment and precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and technical specifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement practices
