Maintenance Helper

About the Role

As a Maintenance Helper, you'll be an essential part of the facilities team, supporting the upkeep of building structures and outdoor grounds across the Shepherd of the Valley campus. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to make a tangible difference in the lives of older adults in the Trumbull County area.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine repairs to building structures, including walls, flooring, doors, and fixtures
• Maintain and care for outdoor grounds, including walkways, landscaping, and common exterior areas
• Assist senior maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance tasks throughout the facility
• Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance needs in a timely manner
• Keep maintenance areas organized and equipment properly stored
• Respond to work orders and complete assigned tasks efficiently and thoroughly

What We're Looking For

• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repair techniques, or general trades
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and genuine care for the residents and environment you support
• Prior maintenance, custodial, or grounds experience is a plus but not required
