Automotive Estimator – Body Shop

County Line Auto Body is hiring a full-time Automotive Estimator to join our collision repair team in Howell, Monmouth County. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a growing multi-location body shop network dedicated to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

About the Role

As an Automotive Estimator at County Line Auto Body, you'll be the first point of contact for customers seeking collision repair services. This full-time position is based at our Howell location and plays a crucial role in our shop's operations and revenue. You'll evaluate vehicle damage, document findings, and prepare accurate repair estimates that build customer confidence and drive business growth.

What You'll Do

• Inspect damaged vehicles and assess collision damage using industry-standard techniques and tools
• Research vehicle specifications, replacement parts pricing, and labor rates to compile detailed repair estimates
• Prepare written estimates with itemized costs, parts lists, and repair procedures for customer review
• Communicate directly with vehicle owners and insurance representatives to explain damage assessments and repair timelines
• Coordinate with the Body Shop Manager to prioritize incoming vehicles and manage workflow
• Review completed repairs against original estimates to ensure accuracy and quality control
• Maintain detailed records of all estimates and vehicle data for shop records and insurance claims

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an automotive estimator or collision damage appraiser
• Proficiency with industry estimating software and collision repair databases
• Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, parts identification, and repair procedures
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical damage and repair costs to customers
• Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, complete estimates under deadline pressure
• Customer service orientation and commitment to building client relationships
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with shop management
