Habilitation Support Specialist

WES Health System is hiring a full-time Habilitation Support Specialist in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County to help individuals with developmental disabilities build the everyday skills that lead to greater independence and meaningful community participation.

About the Role

As a Habilitation Support Specialist with WES Health System, you will work directly with consumers in Philadelphia, guiding them as they strengthen practical living and interpersonal abilities. The central aim of this position is to empower each person to participate as fully as possible in their community, tailoring your support to their individual capabilities and goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach consumers in developing core living skills, including social interaction, household and domestic tasks, and personal hygiene.
• Deliver hands-on instruction and encouragement that promotes self-reliance in daily routines.
• Support the integration of developmentally disabled individuals into community settings to the fullest extent of their ability.
• Adapt guidance and teaching methods to match each consumer's unique strengths and developmental needs.
• Foster a respectful, patient, and supportive environment that prioritizes consumer dignity and growth.

Qualifications

• A genuine commitment to assisting individuals with developmental disabilities and promoting their independence.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working closely with consumers and their support networks.
• Patience, dependability, and the ability to teach practical skills through clear, consistent instruction.
• Comfort supporting consumers across social, domestic, and personal-care activities.
• Willingness to work on-site in Philadelphia as part of a full-time team.
