About the Role
As a Teacher Assistant at the Ann Storck Center in Sunrise, Broward County, you will work side by side with an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher to bring individualized learning programs to life each day. This full-time, on-site position centers on helping each child progress toward the goals outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP) while providing warm, attentive support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the ESE Teacher in delivering individualized programs and executing daily lesson plans.
- Follow the ESE Teacher's guidance and instructions within the classroom setting.
- Work each day with your assigned activity group to advance students' individual IEP goals and objectives.
- Offer appropriate, hands-on assistance tailored to the needs of each child.
- Carry out feeding programs while modeling correct techniques.
- Implement toileting training programs in accordance with each student's plan.
Qualifications
- A genuine commitment to supporting children with exceptional needs.
- Ability to follow direction from an ESE Teacher and contribute as part of a classroom team.
- Patience, reliability, and attention to each student's individual goals.
- Comfort assisting with personal-care routines such as feeding and toileting programs.
- Availability for a full-time, on-site schedule in Sunrise, Broward County.
