North St is hiring a full-time Extended School Year Assistant – SPED PARA (CREED) Non-Teaching Support to join the summer team at Carver Elementary in the US. This on-site paraprofessional role supports elementary students during the Extended School Year program in a non-teaching capacity.
About the Role
As an Extended School Year Assistant with North St, you will provide hands-on, non-instructional support that helps special education students stay engaged and supported throughout the summer session. Based on-site at Carver Elementary, this is a short-term summer paraprofessional (CREED) position built around the Extended School Year calendar.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist certified staff in delivering daily support to elementary special education students in a non-teaching role.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Support students with routines, transitions, and individual needs during program hours.
- Prepare materials and assist with classroom setup using the allotted preparation time.
- Collaborate with the Extended School Year team to keep sessions running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Interest in supporting elementary and special education (SPED) students in a paraprofessional capacity.
- Dependability and availability for the full Extended School Year schedule.
- Patience, strong interpersonal skills, and a team-first attitude.
- Comfort working on-site at Carver Elementary in the US.
Schedule & Session Dates
- Monday through Thursday, 8:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. (5.5 hours per day, plus 8 hours of preparation time).
- Session dates: July 6–9, July 13–16, and July 20–23.
- Employment type: full-time, on-site (not remote).
