About the Role
As a Lower School Head Teacher of Judaic Studies at SAR Academy, you will guide students in Grades 1 through 5 within an immersive Ivrit b'Ivrit setting. This full-time, on-site position in Riverdale, NY, places you at the heart of a co-educational day school devoted to nurturing both academic excellence and a lasting connection to Jewish life and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Judaic Studies instruction to elementary-age students across Grades 1–5.
- Teach foundational textual skills entirely in Hebrew, fostering fluency and comprehension in an Ivrit b'Ivrit classroom.
- Cultivate in students a genuine love of Torah, mitzvot, and Jewish tradition.
- Build meaningful, supportive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Contribute to a collaborative learning environment grounded in Modern Orthodox values.
Qualifications
- Strong command of Judaic textual sources and the ability to teach them in an Ivrit b'Ivrit environment.
- Skill in transmitting a heartfelt commitment to Torah and mitzvot to young learners.
- Proven ability to form warm connections with students and build a positive classroom community.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a day school setting is highly valued.
