About the Role
As a Survey Party Chief at Gpac, you will serve as a critical leader on the ground, directing survey crews and ensuring that every project meets — and surpasses — client expectations. This is an on-site, full-time position embedded within a collaborative team that holds itself to the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate field survey crews on a variety of land surveying projects in and around Charlotte
- Operate and maintain surveying instruments and equipment with precision
- Collect, record, and verify field data to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications
- Communicate clearly with project managers and clients regarding site conditions and progress
- Uphold safety protocols and quality standards on every job site
- Mentor junior crew members and support a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a Survey Party Chief or senior survey crew role
- Proficiency with total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and data collectors
- Strong understanding of land surveying principles, boundary surveying, and construction layout
- Ability to read and interpret survey plans, legal descriptions, and project documents
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to Charlotte-area job sites
- Excellent leadership and communication skills in a field environment
