Manager Provider Communications

About the Role

As Manager Provider Communications at Highmark Health, you will own the strategy and execution of all communications directed at the provider network — physicians, hospitals, and health systems alike. You will lead a dedicated team responsible for strengthening provider relationships, supporting network growth, and improving retention through clear, timely, and relevant outreach across every channel the organization uses to reach its provider partners.

What You'll Do

• Build, coach, and inspire a communications team focused on provider relations and network engagement
• Design and execute comprehensive provider communication and education strategies across traditional print and digital channels
• Ensure all provider-facing messaging aligns with Highmark Health's corporate objectives, brand standards, and regulatory requirements
• Partner with network management, clinical operations, and contracting teams to surface timely, accurate information providers need
• Oversee the development of educational materials, provider bulletins, portal content, webinars, and other touchpoints
• Lead process improvement initiatives that increase the efficiency and impact of the provider communications function
• Establish and track key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of outreach programs and inform ongoing strategy
• Drive initiatives that support network growth, strengthen provider satisfaction, and reduce churn within the network

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in communications, healthcare administration, marketing, or a related discipline
• Proven experience managing a communications or provider relations team in a healthcare, health insurance, or managed care environment
• Strong command of multi-channel communications strategy, including digital platforms, email, and print
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex clinical or administrative content into clear, audience-appropriate messaging
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-moving environment
• Solid understanding of provider network dynamics, health plan operations, or value-based care models
• Collaborative, strategic thinker who thrives in a matrixed organization
