Sr Financial Analyst, Digital (REMOTE)

About the Role

As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting Cengage Group's digital businesses, you will serve as a key financial partner to product, marketing, and operations leaders. You will translate complex data into clear business insights, helping drive strategy and performance across a portfolio of digital learning solutions that serve millions of students nationwide.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for digital product lines
• Conduct detailed variance analysis comparing actual results to plan and prior periods, surfacing actionable findings for leadership
• Partner cross-functionally with digital product, marketing, and sales teams to provide financial guidance and scenario modeling
• Track and report on key digital business metrics — including subscriber growth, retention, and revenue per user — to inform strategic decisions
• Support monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparation of management reporting packages
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that give business partners real-time visibility into financial performance
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, data quality, and analytical frameworks

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA a plus
• 4+ years of progressive financial analysis or FP&A experience, ideally within a digital, SaaS, or subscription-based business
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with enterprise planning tools (e.g., Workday Adaptive, Anaplan, or similar)
• Familiarity with BI and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize large datasets into concise, decision-ready narratives for non-finance audiences
• Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills suited to remote collaboration
