Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior Benefits Consultant to join its Human Resources team at its Penbrook, Dauphin County location on a full-time basis.
About the Role
As a Sr. Benefits Consultant at Cardinal Health, you will sit at the intersection of strategy and execution within the HR Benefits function. You will play a central role in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive employee benefits programs that support the company's long-term workforce strategy and align with broader business objectives. This is an on-site position serving a large, complex organization where your expertise directly shapes the employee experience.
What You'll Do
- Administer and continuously improve employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans
- Serve as a senior subject-matter expert on benefits policy development and program implementation across the organization
- Manage relationships with benefits vendors and brokers, evaluating plan performance and negotiating terms to maximize value
- Lead annual open enrollment processes, including communications, system configuration, and employee education
- Ensure full regulatory compliance across all benefits offerings, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA requirements
- Analyze benefits utilization data and market benchmarks to inform strategic recommendations to HR leadership
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and Finance to ensure seamless benefits operations and accurate reporting
- Anticipate long-term benefits needs in alignment with Cardinal Health's evolving talent and business strategies
- Support leave administration programs and provide guidance to employees and managers on benefits-related questions
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in benefits administration or HR consulting, with increasing responsibility over time
- Strong working knowledge of US federal and state benefits regulations, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA
- Experience managing vendor relationships and benefit plan renewals
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and benefits administration systems
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable program improvements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly to diverse employee populations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a large, matrixed organization
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CEBS or CBP certification is a plus
