Swift Placement & Consulting is placing a Senior Territory Sales Engineer – Machine Tools with a premier CNC machine tool distributor serving Wisconsin-based manufacturing clients from its Hartland, Waukesha County footprint. This is a full-time, field-based opportunity for a technically sharp sales professional ready to own a territory and drive meaningful revenue growth.

About the Role

The Senior Territory Sales Engineer will serve as the primary point of contact for manufacturing customers across an assigned Wisconsin territory, delivering consultative solutions that span CNC machine tools, cutting tooling, and broader precision manufacturing technology. Regular customer travel throughout the territory is part of the job.

What You'll Do

  • Prospect, develop, and close new business within a defined Wisconsin-based territory while deepening relationships with existing accounts
  • Conduct on-site customer consultations to assess machining challenges and recommend appropriate CNC equipment and tooling solutions
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations that clearly communicate value to both shop-floor and executive audiences
  • Build and maintain an accurate sales pipeline, managing opportunities from first contact through purchase order and installation
  • Partner with applications engineers and OEM manufacturer representatives to configure the right solution for each customer
  • Stay current on CNC technology trends, competitor offerings, and developments in precision manufacturing to advise customers with authority
  • Represent the company at trade shows, open houses, and regional industry events

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated success selling capital equipment, CNC machine tools, or industrial manufacturing solutions in a B2B environment
  • Solid technical foundation in CNC machining, metalworking processes, or manufacturing engineering — enough to earn credibility on the shop floor
  • Consultative, value-driven selling approach with a track record of meeting or exceeding territory quotas
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-starter mindset comfortable managing a territory independently with minimal day-to-day oversight
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout Wisconsin to customer facilities
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on industry experience
