Business Analyst, Pricing and Underwriting

Maxor National Pharmacy Services is hiring a full-time Business Analyst, Pricing and Underwriting to join its team in Milford, Sussex County — a pivotal analytical role within a growing Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) organization.

About the Role

In this position, you will serve as a key analytical resource supporting pricing strategy and contract development for Specialty pharmacy services. Working at the intersection of data, finance, and client strategy, you will compile and interpret complex datasets, produce actionable reporting, and collaborate across departments to help the organization price its services competitively and accurately.

What You'll Do

• Gather, validate, and analyze pharmacy claims and utilization data to support Specialty service pricing contracts
• Build and maintain custom reports that translate raw data into clear insights for Underwriting, Finance, Clinical, and Account Management stakeholders
• Assess the financial and operational impact of client-requested changes to existing pricing arrangements
• Support the development and review of pricing models used in contract negotiations and client renewals
• Respond to ad hoc data requests from cross-functional partners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Identify trends in drug spend, utilization, and cost drivers that inform underwriting decisions
• Document analytical methodologies and maintain data integrity across pricing workflows

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Health Informatics, or a closely related field
• Experience in a PBM, health plan, or managed care environment preferred
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel (including pivot tables and advanced formulas), and reporting platforms
• Solid understanding of pharmacy benefit structures, drug pricing benchmarks (AWP, WAC, MAC), or specialty pharmacy operations is a strong plus
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex datasets into clear, decision-ready recommendations
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and a collaborative working style
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
