MiraCosta Portal is building its 2025–2026 pool of part-time Associate Instructors in Interdisciplinary Studies in Humanities, based in Oceanside, San Diego County. About the Role
As an Interdisciplinary Studies in Humanities Associate (Part-time) Instructor at MiraCosta Portal, you will join a standing applicant pool from which faculty are drawn as instructional needs arise throughout the 2025–2026 academic year. The position centers on teaching humanities coursework that bridges multiple fields of study, helping learners in Oceanside connect ideas across art, literature, history, and the performing arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction in interdisciplinary humanities subjects to a diverse student body.
- Design and lead coursework that draws connections across the humanities disciplines.
- Support student learning, assessment, and academic progress within assigned courses.
- Maintain the instructional standards and collegial environment expected at MiraCosta Portal.
Qualifications
To be considered, applicants must demonstrate they meet the minimum qualifications through official transcripts that clearly show the degree title, major, and date the degree was awarded. Eligible candidates will hold one of the following:
- A master’s degree in the interdisciplinary area, or
- A master’s degree in one of the disciplines that make up the interdisciplinary area — including Humanities, Art, English, Music, Philosophy, History, Film Studies, Dance, or Drama/Theatre Arts, among related fields.
