Leidos is hiring a Senior Transmission Line Designer in Edgewood, Orange County, to join a collaborative engineering team tackling the complex challenges of modern electric transmission infrastructure.
About the Role
As a Senior Transmission Line Designer at Leidos, you will help shape the design of high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) electric transmission systems. Working within a fast-moving, problem-solving team, you will contribute your expertise to overhead and underground transmission line projects that strengthen the power grid for utilities and clients. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Edgewood, Orange County.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead designer on electric transmission line design projects spanning HV and EHV voltage classes.
- Develop design solutions for both overhead and underground transmission systems.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to resolve technical and engineering challenges efficiently.
- Support project delivery in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Apply industry standards and best practices to produce accurate, constructible transmission line designs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in electric transmission line design, ideally at a senior level.
- Working knowledge of high-voltage and extra high-voltage overhead and underground systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team setting.
- A detail-oriented approach to design accuracy and engineering quality.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
