As an Environmental Protection Specialist with the Defense Logistics Agency in Paterson, Passaic County, you will monitor environmental compliance and turn audit findings into practical solutions. This full-time position is telework eligible and centers on keeping DLA programs aligned with environmental standards through diligent oversight and clear corrective action.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track environmental compliance, drawing on findings from both internal DLA reviews and service component audits.
- Build corrective action plans whenever compliance gaps surface, including authoring standard operating procedures.
- Develop and support contracts that advance environmental program goals.
- Use the DLA Enterprise Business System (EBS) to create Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs) that fund environmental initiatives.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of environmental compliance principles and audit processes.
- Ability to design corrective action plans and write clear standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity with enterprise business systems such as DLA EBS, and experience generating funding requests like MIPRs.
- Strong attention to detail and the organizational skills to manage compliance tracking across multiple sources.
