Iec Corp Group is hiring a part-time Automotive Technician Instructor to join the teaching team at its Tacoma Campus, serving students in University Place, Pierce County.

This part-time instructor position places you at the center of students' career transformations. You'll guide aspiring automotive technicians through both the hands-on technical competencies and the professional habits employers demand — giving graduates a genuine edge when entering the workforce.

What You'll Do

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned automotive technology instruction in a hands-on campus environment
• Teach core subject areas such as engine systems, drivetrain, braking, electrical/electronic systems, and vehicle diagnostics
• Coach students on workplace readiness skills — punctuality, professionalism, communication, and teamwork
• Assess student progress through practical demonstrations, written evaluations, and competency checkpoints
• Maintain a safe, organized shop classroom that meets industry and institutional standards
• Support students in building the confidence and skills needed to successfully enter automotive careers

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated expertise in automotive technology through hands-on industry experience
• A genuine drive to teach, mentor, and invest in student success
• Strong grasp of modern vehicle systems, diagnostic equipment, and repair procedures
• Ability to break down complex technical concepts for students at varying skill levels
• A professional work ethic — reliable, disciplined, and committed to high instructional standards
• Prior teaching or training experience is a plus, though not required for the right candidate
• Relevant certifications (such as ASE) are strongly preferred
