GlobalFoundries is seeking a full-time Director of Internal & Executive Communications to join its leadership team in Austin, Travis County, Texas — a strategic role responsible for shaping how the company's story is told from the inside out.
About the Role
As Director of Internal & Executive Communications at GlobalFoundries, you will serve as the connective tissue between senior leadership and a globally distributed workforce. This position demands an experienced communications strategist who can translate complex business priorities into clear, resonant messaging that informs, aligns, and motivates employees at every level of the organization.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that supports GlobalFoundries' business objectives and culture across its global manufacturing sites.
- Craft executive communications for the CEO and senior leadership team, including keynote remarks, town hall presentations, all-hands scripts, video scripts, and written messages to employees.
- Build and manage editorial calendars for employee-facing channels — intranet, email newsletters, digital signage, and leadership blogs — ensuring consistent, timely delivery.
- Partner closely with HR, Corporate Affairs, and business unit leaders to align messaging around organizational change, company milestones, and strategic priorities.
- Establish metrics and feedback loops to measure the effectiveness of internal communications programs and continuously improve engagement.
- Lead and mentor a team of communications professionals, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of storytelling excellence.
- Support crisis and change communications efforts, ensuring employees receive accurate, timely information during periods of transition.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive communications experience, with a significant focus on internal and executive communications in a large, complex organization.
- Proven ability to write and edit for C-suite executives, capturing individual voice while meeting organizational objectives.
- Experience in a global manufacturing, technology, or semiconductor environment is a strong advantage.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a sharp editorial eye and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Track record of leading and developing high-performing communications teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
