About the Role
As a full-time Youth Care Worker, you will support residents at Walton Academy for Growth and Change in DeFuniak Springs, a residential treatment program set near the white sand beaches of Northwest Florida. This hands-on, on-site role places you at the center of daily care, mentorship, and mental health support for the young people we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care and daily supervision for youth in a residential treatment setting
- Serve as a positive role model, mentor, and consistent source of guidance and encouragement
- Support each resident's mental health and personal development goals alongside clinical and program staff
- Help foster a safe, structured, and respectful environment that promotes growth and positive change
- Assist with daily routines, activities, and the overall well-being of the youth in your care
Qualifications
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of young people
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, reliable, and supportive in a structured care environment
- Willingness to work on-site, full-time, in Argyle, Walton County / DeFuniak Springs, Florida
- Commitment to teamwork and to the mission of supporting youth through mental health care and positive development
