About the Role
As Gas Engineering & Operations Manager, you will direct the day-to-day engineering and operational functions of the City of Ellensburg's Gas Division. This FLSA-exempt position sits inside the Energy Services Department and carries responsibility for the planning, oversight, and continuous improvement of municipal natural gas systems serving the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee engineering design, construction, and maintenance activities across the Gas Division.
- Manage daily operations to ensure safe, dependable, and compliant gas service delivery.
- Lead, coordinate, and support division staff and project teams.
- Develop and administer plans, standards, and procedures for gas system infrastructure.
- Ensure work aligns with applicable safety regulations and municipal requirements.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in gas engineering, utility operations, or a closely related field.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities in a technical environment.
- Strong knowledge of gas system design, construction, and operational best practices.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards governing natural gas utilities.
- Effective planning, communication, and decision-making skills.
